Sunday for S.J. Jung's official announcement that he is
running for the City Council's 20th District seat. Citing
a campaign platform based upon "creating a unifying
leadership," fighting against budget cuts, creating
jobs and revitalizing small businesses, Jung emphasized
a desire to reach across racial, ethnic and religious lines

Jung's bid for the District 20's seat ushered in a busy
season for the future City Council election.... Jung indicated
that he would utilize all resources and unite all races
to face the current economic downturn, and bring about a
brighter future for Flushing. Jung then explained his platform,
which includes community betterment, more funding , more
employment opportunity, helping small businesses, improving
the quality of life and education, green economy, and more
right for the minorities...etc. Jung declared loudly at
the end of his candidacy, and asked for supporters' votes.

On April 5, S.J. Jung announced his candidacy for the open
seat left by Chinese American City Council member, John
Liu, who has announced his candidacy for Comptroller. The
announcement ceremony was attended by a diverse base of
